In Memory of Roy White: Family Support
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Omar White. I'm starting this go fund me for my father, Roy White. My dad, cool Roy, cowboy Roy and a role he prided himself a lot in, Uncle Roy lost his battle to cancer on August 6th, 2024. My dad was diagnosed with cancer less than 4 months ago. We had a lot of hope and as most of you know, my dad had the utmost of faith in what the lord had in store for him. My last conversation with my dad was about the beginning plannings of his trip to Vegas with his long time partner, sweet Ms. Karen. Sadly, chemotherapy and radiation was not successful and within days my father was on a ventilator fighting for his life while my family and I prayed for a miracle for him to be able to breathe again. We watched intently as numbers would rise, fall, rise again and held on to our own hope and faith for his ability to breathe while quietly, switfy and without care cancer proceeded to invade throughout his body. As his son, it was hard to accept that I could not return the favor of life that he had given me not only once but countless times while I battled with asthma in childhood. My superhero would come to my rescue, race me to the hospital and soon enough I was at ease. My goal is to raise money to give my father, our children's grandfather and all of his nieces and nephews uncle Roy the send off he deserves. My father left us all before I or the family could prepare, he was taken from us within months with limited to no ability to speak at times. Unfortunately, he did not have life insurance. Uncle Roy, a true fashion icon if I do say so myself, gave his all to his family and we would like to give it back to him. My sisters, my family and I want to take this time to thank those who have donated already, or spread the message, or even just took a moment to read this. There will never be another Roy White, and while my heart aches for those of us left behind, I believe heaven is rocking and rolling and my dad can once again rejoice with those he has lost along the way. I love you dad.
Thank you,
Omar
