Cowboy builder destroyed my family

My name is Zee and I belong to a family of four. My girls (41 yrs old, 5 yrs old, and 3 yrs old) are my world to me and I wanted to change my home into a family home.

I met a builder in July 2022, started works in September 2022 and he promised a four month turnaround. Contract in place, paperwork sorted, all looked great.

As the progress continued the builder became more hostile, distant, and would only be in communication when he needed money. We employed him to be the project manager, and did not know we were in as much trouble as we were.

In July 2023, we received confirmation that the builder was lying and cheating us. He ditched us with a damaged roof (which was not connected to the roof), incorrect sizes of columns installed in the roof, an uneven floor; along with many other issues.

Since then, we have been able to redo and complete the works to the standard we need to move back in (this will be our 16th month as nomads, which is half the life of my youngest), but need help to push the last bit.

I did not know if to set this page or not. To be honest my hope in people has gone after this person hurt us, but some people have advised to do this. All the funds collected will go to getting the kitchen put in so we can have family meals again. Create a space for me and my wife to live together and be able to sleep away from our kids. And to make the garden space safe for the kids to be in.
