Teneka Nisa Cowan passed suddenly on Sunday, April 30th, 2017 at the age of 34. A devoted mother, daughter, and sister, she leaves behind a loving family devastated by her loss.

Her four children -- Tyshaun, Tykeel, Talani, and Teon -- will be reunited with Al-Arkbar Ahmand, her partner in life, in Atlanta. However, they will need money to start this next chapter of their lives. A larger home is needed, as well as legal fees, travel expenses from Baltimore to Atlanta, funds for medical and education expenses, and other necessities.

She was the primary caretaker for her elderly mother, Delores, who will need to move into an assisted-living facility. She is unable to walk, and will need help with gathering her clothes and furniture from her home of 20 years.

Finally, the Cowan family will need assistance with funeral expenses and other arrangements for Teneka. It is difficult to ask for this, but the need is great and the time we've had to work with is very short. If we could raise this money over the next few days, it would ease our burden tremendously.

I am David Cowan, her brother. I will be in charge of final expenses and arrange to make sure the funds that have been raised will go to any expenses for Teneka's memorial, her mother and her children.
