Cow Rescued From River Bank

While enjoying a nice day on the river with a friend, I found a cow stuck on the riverbank. She was unable to move because she was stuck on a mound in between a small clay cliff and a very steep rocky runoff trench. She looked pretty emaciated and her ribs were showing so I knew that she had been in that spot starving for some time. Days before she literally had escaped slaughter and ended up in that spot there on the riverbank. Unable to move she had already eaten the tiny bit of grass she could reach from her 1 standing position.  Besides that tiny amount, she hadn't eaten for many days. It was heartbreakingly obvious. My concern for this animal wouldn't let me sleep so I decided to ferry her some hay using a small boat, under the cover of darkness. This was the only way to access her because the property owner wouldn't allow me to go on his land to feed the animal that had escaped his butchering ways. After days of hearing BS from the property owner and seeing no attempts to free this cow from a certain long drawn out death, I decided to try a rescue of my own and get this cow to safety once and for all. Luckily soon after, I ran into friends that have grown up around cows and know this type of animal pretty well. We thought up a plan and got the equipment needed to get the job done. From there on everything happened very fast and the cow was in the river up against the boat like planned. As u can imagine the cow didn't swim very well in its weakened state and even gave up a couple times. Many minutes later but not soon enough she was on a beach gathering the strength to stand up and step out of the water. We actually had executed this dangerous and heart wrenching rescue. Against all odds this cow had once again escaped a premature death and she wasn't even 2 years old. For a few days she grazed and ate with a small group of cows in the field where she came ashore during the rescue. Atleast she was off of that tiny mound on the riverbank. Throughout the next couple days it wasn't clear who owned her but we all had a good idea of who it was. While trying to figure out whats next for her and thinking theres no way authorities would give her back to such a cruel human, I got a call telling me bad news. This cow was going right back to the owner that had neglected her and made her starve while denying any wrong doing to animal abuse authorities. He only had 1 thing in mind for her and that was to chop her up like he originally tried to do. After seeing what she went through and knowing how much of a fighter she is, I knew this was far from over. I had to do whatever it takes to keep her away from him. Having to keep my cool and holding in my emotions I was able to negotiate with this sick twisted human and buy the cow from him for $400. Just as soon as this was done I moved her to a big green local pasture. This cow is now safe, happy and will never be neglected again. I am going to keep her and raise her to live her lazy cow days in peace. This cow definitely gets a pass in life. There is a lot that comes with owning an animal of this size including vet bill's to check her out after her body has gone through such extremes. Especially this first month there will be a lot of expenses that will be adding up. This is why I am setting up this account during the first part of her new opportunity at life. I have developed a close bond with her as you could imagine and I'm excited to see how her huge personality adjusts to the laid back cow life that she so badly deserves at this point. If this ever gets to be too much for me, I will do what's in the best interest of the animal and give her to one of the nice people who offered her a home from the start. But for now I'm going to see if I can give her a good home. So far so good.I never thought I'd ever have to use one of these to collect money but this has all kinda just fell into my life. I also never thought I'd be naming a cow that I rescued from a riverbank. She patiently waited there for humans to fix the terrible situation that they put her in for more then a week.
