COVID-19 Restaurant relief platform

On March 16, 2020, New York City made the difficult decision to temporarily close its restaurants in response to the
global health crisis surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Like many employees in the NYC Service industry,
this decision has left many of us without jobs, health insurance, or a way to support our families who desperately 
depend on our income. 

For fifteen years I have had the joy of working in the restaurant industry.  It’s allowed me to bring new and innovative
food to my customers, make someone’s day brighter, meet people from around the world, and learn to respect the
hard-working owners and staff that have given their lives to their businesses and customers.  
 
Since we have now seen firsthand the devastating impact that this virus has had on such a crucial industry here in
New York City, our goal is to create a large-scale, sustainable solution that supports small restaurants in times
of crisis. Rather than raise money for one specific restaurant, we came up with a solution that can support a
collective of NYC restaurants.  Our business idea, The New Forker, will be an online platform that will offer customers discounted gift cards to a local collective of NYC restaurants, with a portion of proceeds supporting the Small
Business Relief Initiative. 
 
Our mission at The New Forker is to bring dining experiences to our clients while helping struggling restaurants add
another resource of revenue, selling E-Gift-Cards and grow their pool of customers. To fulfill our mission, we are
raising money to support our effort in creating the New Forker E-Gift Card platform website and app, promoting The New Forker on social media using paid ads and promotions, allowing us to offer our service to local restaurants for
free.  
 
20% of the donations from this GoFundMe will be donated to the Small Business Relief Initiative to be able to help
more employees that lost their income.
