Covid19 Relief for Navajo Families Part II
Donation protected
This is PART TWO of the campaign to take food, supplies and cash to our traditional Dine relatives. We went back in July and they appreciated the donations so much. We told them that it wasn't from us, we were just the delivery people. It came from many people in LA, San Diego and Phoenix areas. It came from organizations like AMAE Oxnard and many kind people and families.
We gave food boxes, cleaning supplies and medical basics, bags of rice, beans and hand sanitizer. We took masks and shields and envelopes of cash for each family.
Thank you to all. We still have $1000 that was donated by Olga & Jose, Frida & Luis and the 50th Chicano Moratorium Committee. We also have some food and Ensure thanks to Rafa and Abraham Photo World.
Our goal this time is at least $10000, bags of rice, beans, coffee, masks and medical /cleaning supplies.
I am the organizer, Guadalupe Carrasco Cardona, who is representing the organizations associated with this campaign - Indio Ink, La Trenza, 50th Chicano Moratorium, AAC, Association of Raza Educators Los Angeles, Contemporary Arte in Movement, Halauu of San Diego, and Yolloxochitl.
I will be going in a caravan of several vehicles the 1-2 week of November. Pictures and testimony will be provided to all donors.

The Navajo Rez has been hit harder than the rest of the US by the Covid19 pandemic. The hospitals are not getting proper support or funding. The nurses are working for months with no pay. Persons testing positive are getting sent home which is also bad for the families they return to. We really want to make a difference for the families who have always had open arms and have hosted us for sundance and other healing ceremonies.
Several artivist organizations are collaborating to bring much needed supplies and cash to 20-30 families living in the Dine (Navajo) reservation in Arizona.
It is difficult for some families living in fringe areas to go to distribution centers for those supplies and it is also dangerous because the distribution centers are in hot spots of Coronavirus pandemic. We are taking supplies to some isolated communities who have elders and children in their extended families.
Any amount that folks can contribute is appreciated. We know that times are tough and campaigns are plenty, but we cannot forget about the elders who are the reservations who are in dire need of our help.
