COVID19 Relief for my Dad, Ivan Alli

Donation protected
Hi Everyone, hope you are all doing well and staying indoors and safe from COVID 19.

I’m sitting here in tears as I muster up the strength to write this post for our family. On May 2nd, at 2:41pm - my dad took his last breath due to a month long battle of COVID19. We not only lost an amazing dad, but a husband, a brother, an uncle and a great human being overall. My dad, Ivan Alli meant so much to me - he taught me the most important thing in life and that was “education is freedom.” I am who I am because of my dad. He was such a selfless, kind and tough man. He sacrificed his life to provide for my mom, and my youngest brother who solely depended on my dad financially. Anyone that knew my dad, Ivan- can only say great things about him. My dad suffered and endured so much pain due to this virus. I watched my dad struggle to breathe on his own, unable to walk, and unable to eat that he became so weak and unrecognizable during his last days. The day I said goodbye to my dad via Face time, I couldn’t hold back my tears. I thought to myself, my dad is going through so much pain- I shouldn’t be the one crying but my dad was comforting me instead and he was smiling through his pain and he showed no fear whatsoever on his final exit. My dad always told me, “baby-girl, don’t be sad that I’m leaving but be happy I lived all these years.”

My dad also had underlying health issues prior to COVID 19. He suffered from diabetes, heart disease and cirrhosis but he fought so hard to see us again. It pains me that my dad suffered so much, he was unable to urine on his own, he needed a catheter to help him, he completely lost his appetite for 2 weeks, his organs were shutting down and eventually he died of a cardiac arrest. During the cardiac arrest, my dad was revived twice and it was so powerful that it broke his rib cage. He was later on pronounced dead at 2:41pm and I’m so thankful that my brother and sister were there to hold his hand. Our family will be using the donations to pay for my dad’s medical expenses, burial expenses and to help get my mom and brother back on their feet. I’m so grateful for my brother Chris, as he quit his job to care for my dad while he was battling COVID19 at home before he was hospitalized. My brother was also positive for COVID19 but had mild symptoms. He risked his health and life to care for my dad and to help my mom at home. We empathize and completely understand that we are not the only family dealing with this, and that so many people are struggling financially. But please, any donations will help and if you are unable to donate at this time - please, please share our campaign. We can’t thank you enough for all of your support and help.
