COVID-19 Outbreak in Housing Facility Aid

Donation protected
There has been an outbreak at a local farm worker housing facility RIGHT HERE IN OXNARD. Home of the place where everybody loves to claim our strawberry festivals but not the people who pick them. This effort has been  created to be able aid the campesinos affected in the housing facility to help with costs of bills that may accumalate to them since they will be quarantining due to being COVID-19 positive. I am a employee that aids the efforts of the 805UndocuFund that provides aid to our undocumented workers here in Ventura County, which largely consists of our campesinos! All aids will be directed to the campesinos NOT the 805UndocuFund. I highly encourage you all to support them directly and make sure that all companies involved make sure our gente are taken care of!! Gratitude through action.

"A coronavirus outbreak at a farmworker housing facility in Oxnard has infected at least 95 residents there, officials said Monday. Test results are pending for another 100 people, they said.”

Remember the initial post said 95 workers tested positive, but an additional 100 tests were administered? The other 100 results came back and now it’s 176 total!!! More than 80% of the 100 tested POSITIVE. For the people thinking, “it’s not even that serious,” Or “Nothing will happen, they’re young and healthy.” Or “they’re asymptomatic, they won’t be hospitalized,” SHAME ON YOU. No one deserves to contract any virus or disease, regardless of how life-threatening it may be. Quarantine means they will not work.

WHICH MEANS THEY WILL MOST LIKELY NOT GET PAID DURING THEIR QUARANTINE. These are essential workers. They must receive benefits. Paid time off. Health insurance. Affordable housing. And the list goes on!! This is the least we could do for the Harding working Gente de Oxnard! ¡Viva Lxs Campesinxs! ✊ ••• “An outbreak of COVID-19 has left at least 176 residents and staff members infected at a farmworker housing facility in Ventura County. Of the 216 tests administered to people affiliated with the facility, more than 80% returned positive.

The infected residents — all men, mostly in their 20s and 30s — either have mild symptoms or are asymptomatic. None have been hospitalized for COVID-19, said Rigoberto Vargas, the Ventura County public health director.” - @vivaoxnard
