COVID19: Making Tragic Struggles Of A Family Worse
Donation protected
The ladies of the Anand family are one of the most resilient, hard working and kindest people one could ever meet. Unfortunately, they have also seen some of the most tragic and difficult times in the last couple of decades. As they say, God gives its hardest battles to its toughest soldiers. The struggles of the Anand family took another turn for the worse with COVID-19.

Simran Kaur Anand, a widow, who was the sole provider for her twin daughters, Harnoor Kaur Anand and Harneet Kaur, and mother-in-law Amarjeet Kaur Anand, worked tirelessly to provide for her family. Prior to becoming the breadwinner for the family, she was a housewife who didn’t have a job. 15 years ago, after the demise of her husband due to complications to his lungs, she rose up to the challenge of providing for her family. Not only was she supporting her family, she was also supporting her daughter Harnoor Kaur who is deaf since birth, which was not an easy task juggling her work and her special needs.
On the other hand, Simran’s mother-in-law, Amarjeet Kaur has seen so much tragedy in her life, having lost her husband, and then both sons at a young age. Despite all this, she is one of the most loving and inspiring people in the world.
Everything changed for the family on the night of June 20th, when Simran Kaur tested positive for Covid-19. She was admitted to the hospital to monitor her breathlessness. But what happened next was a whirlwind of disaster for her and her kids. During the initial 2 days, while breathing with oxygen support, her situation got very critical and she was put on a ventilator. After that it was an uphill battle against the virus and her trying to survive for her kids. The CT scan showed there was severe damage to her lungs.
For the next 22 days, there were a lot of prayer offerings at the Anand house. As the family was getting hopeful for her survival, the most dreaded call came on Saturday morning, July 12th, the same morning when her daughters were supposed to go meet her for the first time in 22 days. Her heart had stopped and they were trying to revive her. The kids were super excited to meet their mom, hopeful that listening to their voices she would surely wake up. But God had other plans. She had already passed away by the time they reached the hospital. Simran has left behind two beautiful daughters and a mother-in-law who is 70 years of age.
There is also the added loss of Simran Kaur’s brother who passed away before she got admitted to the hospital and her mother who also lost her life while Simran was still battling for her’s. In a span of 25 days, three members of the family perished due to the pandemic.
Simran had shown to the world that as long as she was in this world, she could take care of her children, and she did so without ever complaining about it. As the family grieves, we want to ensure they are financially secure, not just for their future needs, but also pending hospital and other bills.
If you are able to help in any way - either by donating or sharing this with the others - it would mean the world to the Anand family, as they fight yet another battle.
We are grateful and thankful to everyone reading this and lending a helping hand.
