COVID19 - EMERGENZA PER IL GHANA/ A MEAL FOR GHANA

PREMESSA/INTRODUCTION
Il 30 marzo,  a causa del COVID19,  il Ghana è ufficialmente entrato in lockdown  e da allora il governo ha chiuso tutte le attività commerciali tranne quelle di vendita e somministrazione del cibo.
Il virus non si sta diffondendo come in Europa o altre parti del mondo ma il blocco totale dell'economia sta portando tantissimi problemi sociali 
Nella capitale, Accra, una megalopoli di 5 milioni di abitanti, Le autorità locali, stanno facendo il possibile ma c'è una fascia della popolazione (perlopiù proveniente dal nord del paese ) che vive, lavora e dorme in strada e che in questo momento,  non ha risorse finanziarie e supporto per affrontare questo momento.
Sono per lo più giovani che per sopravvivere hanno sempre svolto mansioni o lavori che permettevano loro di avere il cibo necessario per arrivare al giorno dopo.
Senza la possibilità di lavorare e senza alcuna possibilità di procurarsi del cibo, la sopravvivenza diventa complicata.

All businesses are closed with the exception of food producers and retailers.
Due to this, the virus is not spreading in the same way it is across Europe and in other parts of the world.
Unfortunately, this total block of the economy is creating major problems.
In the capital Accra, the local authorities are working hard to do all they can, however there is still a large portion of the city (mainly towards northern areas of the country ) that live, work and sleep in the streets.
Right now, they do not have any financial support to get through this time.
Most of them are young people that usual survive with differing casual jobs that allow them to survive by purchasing food only on a day to day basis with out any ability to forward plan.
Survival is complicated for people in this bracket right with out the option to work daily.

Okra Project è una piccola NGO ghanese  con soci italiani e ghanesi che dal 2010 sviluppa progetti a supporto delle fasce più deboli del Ghana.
Abbiamo fornito attrezzature a scuole e villaggi.
In collaborazione con le comunità locali abbiamo costruito scuole e centri per ragazze nei villaggi dove il governo ghanese, impegnato nello sviluppo del paese non è ancora arrivato.

We donate a variety of equipment to schools and villages.
As well as previously we have built schools and girls centres in towns and local communities that the Ghanaian government has yet to reach.

COSA VOGLIAMO FARE/WHAT WE WANT TO DO
Da oggi con il supporto del nostro staff in Ghana, produrremo e distribuiremo circa 300-400 pasti al giorno in diverse parti della città.
Le risorse della ns associazione sono in questo momento limitate e  dopo pochi giorni saremmo costretti a interrompere la distribuzione del cibo.
Calcolando tutte le spese per l'acquisto del cibo e del  packaging, siamo in grado di fornire un pasto al costo di 1 euro al giorno a persona.
Puoi donare un importo libero oppure pensare ad una donazione che possa supportare una persona per una settimana (7 euro) oppure mensile (30 euro).

Since today  with the support of our Ghanaian staff we will make and distribute up to 400 meals a day in different parts of the city where we feel they are most needed.
As we only have limited resources after only a few days we will find ourselves with no option but interrupt the food distribution without your help.
The cost of buying and packaging each meal is only 1 euro per person per day. We will welcome any donation you can make, but please remember only 7 euro will feed a person for a week or 30 euro will feed a person for a month.

CONCLUSIONI/IN CONCLUSION
Il corona virus ha colpito il mondo senza alcuna distinzione ma in alcune parti del mondo l'accesso alle cure e al cibo sono molto più difficoltose di altre.
Sappiamo benissimo che in questo momento tutti gli sforzi del volontariato sono indirizzati al supporto dei propri paesi e territori ma siamo convinti che questo periodo dovrebbe farci vedere oltre il nostro piccolo mondo.

COVID 19 has hit the world and attacks without any distinction, however in some parts of the world it is hard to access the food and hospitals that we take for granted.
We know that right now everything is being done to support our own countries however we want to support the idea of not borders and be able to see and help outside our borders.
