Stop the Bug! COVID-19 Emergency Medical Fund
Donation protected
Who we are: We are a non profit organization working to centralize, focus, collect and distribute PPE and PPE mask drives to protect our first responders and hospitals locally and nationwide.
Why: Our founder, a first responder with over 20 years Emergency management experience coordinating disaster efforts domestically and internationally, received a text from a local nurse mid March. In the text the nurse stated that she was pulling her ER shifts in direct contact with Covid-19 patients in only a bandana, as they had run out of masks. Our founders immediately drove up north, gave this nurse their personal N95 mask, and started their PPE drive that evening. Since then our drive and organization has expanded to become a central hub of contacts, needs, information, local and nationwide agencies, universities, hospitals, fire and police departments, and affiliates all coming together with Stop the Bug to support our front line.
After initially reaching out to the Department of Enterprise, DOH, Dept of Military, DEM, WA Covid-19 response team, and all area hospitals, we became aware of the understandable overwhelm, confusion, and lag time delaying distribution of PPE to our front line. We then pivoted to become a direct line and source of that PPE and homemade PPE to our first responders and hospitals.

How we help our first responders and front line: we directly collect, distribute and provide PPE, mask covers, isolation gowns, gown covers, face shields, PAPR, hand sanitizer, and sources of PPE stateside and abroad. We help coordinate small PPE efforts, greater EMS and hospital needs, and are currently leading the mission to centralize, focus, and change protocol across the country to allow for prolonged use and lower burn rates of PPE. This ultimately ensures that all of our front line and first responders are protected and cared for, as efficiently and effectively as possible.
We thank you for your support!
