COVID-19: Cooper’s Alehouse Emergency Fund

Donation protected

The COVID-19 outbreak in Seattle has been devastating for Seattle's small businesses and the workers who depend on them for their income.

Unable to open for another couple weeks at least, the Coronavirus is taking its toll and Cooper’s is in danger of not being able to weather this storm. We never thought that we would be asking the public for assistance but to help our valued employees it has come down to this. We cannot expect to rely on government assistance because we have no idea if or when those funds might materialize.

Since 1983, Cooper's Alehouse (current owner management since 2016) has provided a welcoming, lively neighborhood hangout, memorable events, and delicious drinks for local and visiting beer lovers alike. Quite literally Seattle's Original Alehouse, we are considered an institution by many local craft beer enthusiasts. Unfortunately, due to guidance from state public health agencies and mandates from our state leadership, Cooper's Alehouse has been forced to close temporarily until this unprecedented public health crisis has passed.

In the many years that Cooper's has been open, it has attracted an incredible crowd of people, built a fun, supportive community, and provided a safe space for everyone - and that is all due to its incredible, knowlegeable staff. Mandated business closures due to the COVID-19 crisis hit workers like this the hardest.

As part of the ownership, I'm humbly asking you to send a few dollars to help us and our staff get through this difficult time. If you're having a drink at home and wishing you were having a round with friends or cheering on your favorite team, tip your Bartender, Cook, and/or Janitor to let them know you're thinking of them and you're grateful for what they do.

The money donated here will go to keeping afloat a long time, local, independently owned establishment  in Seattle where we are losing them left and right. 90% of all donations will go directly to staff while the other 10% will go to "keeping the lights on" so they have a place to come back to when this thing blows over. It will end and we will get through it together!

Cheers!!!
