Afghanistan COVID-19 Relief Campaign
Donation protected
Afghanistan is facing a food crisis during the COVID19 pandemic. As many of you may already know that Afghanistan is a landlocked country, with a population of about 35 million. It's one of the world's most underdeveloped countries where 80% of its people are living below the poverty line. It has suffered from four decades of internal and external conflicts resulting in destitution, poverty, and unemployment. Since the outbreak of the Covid19, the country is on the brink of economic meltdown. The state-imposed quarantine has forced thousands of families into extreme poverty. Thousands of families are struggling to find a day's meal.
We are an organization of selfless volunteers, based in the UK, USA, and Afghanistan, who are on a mission to help those in need regardless of their religion, ethnicity, or language. We aim to deliver food packages to Sikh communities in Nangarhar, poor families in remote villages of Nuristan, Kunar, and internally displaced families in Kabul. We delivered food packages and cash to families in Kunar and Nangarhar recently (pictures) and intend to deliver similar packages in the places mentioned above. Your donations can feed an entire family of 7 members for $50 per month. We kindly request you to donate whatever amount you can for this noble cause.
Bibi Zarghuna is a widow, living in a remote village of Kunar (picture). She and her five children were starving for days till our volunteers reached to her and delivered food packages. There are thousands of families like Bibi Zarghuna with kids who are in dire need of help. Therefore, Zhwand (Life) Welfare is launching "Food for all Campaign" to provide a month of basic food ration for low-income families in Afghanistan.
Thank you for generosity.
