Covid SAVED this man’s life!

Hi my name is Claudia Loreman and I am helping a dear friend of mine in his time if need.

Tommy Q is one of the most giving, understanding, helpful, hard working and loving family men and friend I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I called Tommy about a month ago seeking guidance in my new marriage. I hadn’t spoken to him in quite some time. The first thing I did was ask how he was doing. Tommy was so up beat and excited to share his shocking yet good fortune with me. I had come to find out this wonderful man and brother in Christ had been through more startling health concerns these past two years than a hand full of people put together would go through in a life time. He was so humble and grateful to be alive and still be able to be a part of his children’s and grandchildren’s lives. He had not yet shared his story with many people. As he and I were chatting I realized what financial strain he must be under so I suggested a GoFundMe for his medical and financial needs. Tommy was hoping I could help explain his incredible and miraculous adventure of survival and how Covid saved his life.

When Tommy asked me to help him I felt so honored and blown away. “Of course!” I said “I’m so excited to contribute in anyway I can to help you Tommy”. Even through all Tommy is and was going through he jumped at the chance to give his time, lend his ears and open his heart but also give his wisdom all the while leading us through a desperate time. He truly help me and my husband in our hour of need. When we were struggling Tommy’s name just kept popping in my head. I am so grateful God put it on my heart to to reach out to Tommy. In just a day or two of his guidance so many things were being mended in our world. It’s just amazing how much Tommy cares and is willing to be there for others! God knew we needed him and God also knew Tommy needed to tell me his story so it could be shared.

Two years ago Tommy and his wife Ruth came down with Covid. He and his wife were separated in the hospital and were struggling at the same time to survive. His wife was released after seven days. Yet Tommy continued to stay in the hospital for more testing. He found out his kidneys were working at only 25% capacity. They did more blood work and he found out he had sorosis of the liver which turned out to be cancer. They had to stop the tumor from growing. So they shot a dye into his liver to control the growth of the cancer. But after that procedure had been administered Tommy’s kidneys shut down completely. At this time he has been going through dialysis 3 times a week for the past 10 months. Since his kidneys and liver were dying they needed to do more tests to see if he was a candidate for kidney and liver transplants. They had to test his heart to see if it was healthy enough to go through transplant surgery. They shot another dye into his heart and found he had calcium blockage in most of his arterial veins. (These blockages are the main cause of strokes and heart attacks). Tommy then had to have heart surgery which included 5 bypasses. His arterial veins were taken from his legs and transplanted into his heart. After his heart surgery they found that he had a long term gum infection. In order to qualify as a transplant candidate Tommy then had to have all his remaining teeth pulled out. 2 Friday he was admitted again into the hospital after more testing they discovered they were able to control the larger tumor but they found more little growths around the main tumor near his scar tissue. They shot chemo beads into the affected area to completely kill all the tumors. In November Tommy should be up for a transplant. Every month they take a blood sample to find a match so he can hopefully get his new kidney(s) and new liver.

Through all this heart ache and suffering Tommy has been such a positive man and trying his best to thank God for his health and everything the doctors discovered all because he had Covid and was admitted to the hospital. He keeps telling me that Covid saved his life. Right now Tommy is struggling to eat and needs help to pay for new teeth. Tommy wants everyone to know he understands that if he hadn’t had Covid the tumor wouldn’t have been caught and he knows in his heart on a very deep level this was all a part of Gods plan to give him a second chance.

Tommy really needs our help. He and his wife are living on a fixed income. He really needs anyone that is able to donate to his medical, dental and financial needs. He and his family have been through so much and they still have such a long road ahead of them. I wanted to help in any way I could to make sure all his needs were met. I know God truly had a hand in bringing us back together. Please help me help him. He is a man of integrity who lends a hand to anyone else in need. I feel he absolutely deserves more than I can give. I honestly wish I could do it all that’s how much I care about this man.
