Covid Response: East Coast & Sydney CU 10 K Match

East Coast Credit Union and Sydney Credit Union are  generously matching every $ raised here up to $ 10,000. Your contributions will go a long way is meeting urgent needs of those affected by Covid crisis in rural regions of India.


"While media attention is on cities, migrant  labor force has returned to their villages in large numbers, increasing the spread more rapidly.  With no work and little savings, many are consuming the seeds saved for the next cropping season due in July ."

The response is focused on creating Home and Community Based Care for non-critical patients, reducing pressure on health system, and working in collaboration with local administration. 

Response includes creating awareness, dispelling myths, facilitating visits by health workers for testing, access to basic medicines for fever and cough, distributing masks, thermometers,  food for children and vulnerable,  operating helpline and connecting critical patients with hospitals.  Every help, small or large, will be of immense help in these critical times when 2nd wave is hitting the rural areas. 

Ekta Parishad, Mahatma Gandhi Seva Ashram , and its network Gandhian organizations are responding to the Covid crisis in over 1000 villages across rural India through their grassroots leaders.  Women, as always, are leading on the front-line. 

Rajagopal ji, a veteran Gandhain leader, Founder of Ekta Parishad and Coady Chair of Social Justice 2012 is helping coordinate this response at a very large scale.
