Many families in Nepal are in economic distress due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. In Province 2 food security is a genuine concern - 19% of mothers are worried their children are becoming thinner or too thin .
This campaign will provide a relief program for disadvantaged women in two municipalities in Province 2 – Ganeshman Charnath and Karjanha.
The relief program will be administered by Creative Didibahini Organisation Nepal (CDON), a not-for-profit women’s organization affiliated with the Social Welfare Council of Nepal. CDON has a mission to work with marginalized and deprived women and children. They have strong links in the target communities in Province 2 and will deliver support to the households that need it most.
Every AU$3,000 raised will provide:
• Food support for 30 disadvantaged families / individuals (rice, daal, oil, salt, soap)
• 5,000 face masks
• 100 sets of reusable sanitary pads (and menstrual hygiene education) for adolescent and vulnerable young women
• Income support for 10-15 women engaged in manufacturing the reusable sanitary pads.
Thank you for your generous donation and for sharing this link with your friends.
Sincerely,
Hilary Wallace
