Covid recovery for Jessica Brown

As many of you know, Jessica was recently diagnosed with COVID-19 and Covid-19 pneumonia. Despite seeking treatment early on, she has found herself fighting for her life in the ICU Department of Good Sam Hospital. As you also know, Jess is a single Mom of two boys - Lucas and Logan. Jess is a wonderful Mom and her boys are her WORLD!! There is nothing that Jessica wants more, than to be home with her boys!

Jessica’s doctor told us today that she has significant damage to her lungs and is still at a high risk of needing to be placed on a ventilator. Thankfully, her condition has slightly improved over the past 24 hours. The doctor said that if she continues to improve, she will probably be in the hospital for at least 4-6 weeks. She would then require therapy and home care that would take several months if not years. This is something that most of us have never planned for and will be very expensive; especially since she won’t have any income coming in.

Jessica’s current medical situation has left her with a lot of time to think and worry about her future. She is constantly thinking about her bills and the possibility of losing her home. Stressing over things causes her respiration rate to increase, which is very detrimental to her condition. Jess has worked so hard to make a home for her two boys. A home in a school district that would provide her boys with the best opportunities, as well as allowing her to become part of a community!

Since moving to Ross, Jess has given so much to her community! School fundraiser - you can count on Jess and her boys to be involved. Team fundraiser- she won’t stop until she asks everyone in the next three towns to buy a (raffle)ticket! Someone in need - you can count on Jess to do everything she can to help out! I have seen her give her time, money and home more times than I can count. Almost every weekend, she has a house full of boys so their parents can have a night out.

Jessica has a heart of gold and I know that many in the community agree! Many have asked how they can help! We have created this GoFundMe to collect monies to help ease the financial burden Jessica faces for being out of work so long. We would be thrilled to tell Jessica that we raised enough money to cover all of her bills and medical expenses for several months, so she can stop worrying about losing what she has worked to hard for! We can’t do that alone!! Please help us make this happen!
