Support our local frontline ED health workers

I would like to highlight the incredible work being done already by ALL the staff working in our local Emergency Departments (doctors, nurses, clerks, cleaners, security guards) in the face of this rapidly evolving COVID 19 pandemic. These frontline staff are already bearing a disproportionate burden of this pandemic and will continue to do so as they strive to provide high quality care to our local community. As a community it is imperative that we show these frontline staff that we care about them and appreciate the lifesaving work that they do but also encourage them to practice good self-care during this intense time so that they can continue to tackle the increasing  surge of COVID 19 cases. As a way to show them that the community is thinking of them I would like to give them all a COVID CARE pack. I will be contributing $1000 but to make sure I have enough COVID CARE packs I need your help!!  All funds raised will be used to make up COVID CARE PACKS for all frontline staff working in Emergency Departments in Newcastle (JHH, Mater, Belmont) and Maitland region of NSW.  The packs will not only show our appreciation for their hard work but also have materials that promote self- care, and mental well-being. Each COVID CARE Pack will contain:a little thankyou gift, local Black Monty cold brew, Long life milk,  Info on simple relaxation strategies and breathing techniques that can be used to reduce anxiety and stress at work. Positive affirmation card  Local volunteer contact numbers if they need any additional help with life outside of the Emergency Department. Eg groceries, meals, babysitting I am also in the process of contacting  the local primary schools to get children to draw or write a little message of support that can also be put in the pack.
