My name is Nii Marmah a tour guide in Ghana and a local community curator and artist manager at Jamestown boutique
Jamestown is one of the communities in Accra with great potential through art.
With low employment opportunities to the youth I, Nii Marmah, started the Jamestown boutique to help support the various skills through the principle of fair trade that support environmental sustainability.
Our community tour and art boutique gives people the opportunity to see a different side of life and support their families.
We've been running for 3 years, and have built this into a very standard and high level class art.
As this year had had a heavy toll on the tourism sector in Ghana, we have been compelled to cancel all our tours for the past 4 months, and our art gallery/shop had seen the biggest dip economically. Consequently, our tour company and gallery/shop risk losing all our seasoned guides, dressmakers and talented artists
This have made it difficult for us and our dependants, no government support, and our team are going through tough times. Even after restrictions ease, still the boarders are close. It will take a long while for business to bounce back, and we’re at serious risk of losing so much by ourselves and family.
Can you help by giving to our fundraiser?
An amount as little as $5 or $10 would make a huge impact in our lives in this turbulent time, and will help protect jobs in Jamestown.
- Protect the livelihoods of our staff and their families
- Re-evaluate and improve our tours and arts
- Promoting a quality brand us we get back to business.
-Promoting highly health protocols measures for all out visitors and clients
We have, therefore, been pushed to seek for your kind support to save the Jamestown boutique
Thanks for your supporting Nii Marmah, Jamestown boutique and the team
