Amber and I (Kirsten) are trying all avenues at this point to save the daycare from drowning!
We have only been around for 7 months and its been an amazing 7 months, until this pandemic came along... we are both single moms of 10yr old girls and trying to make sure the doggy daycare can be around long after this Corona Virus has gone, but we are running out of options.
We found that since we are only 7 months young, we don't qualify for 90 percent of the loans (the other 10% we have applied for but no luck so far) that are out there to help with small business survival right now.. We asked family and friends what we should do...and this is what most everyone suggested. They said start a GoFundMe and tell people your story.
So here goes...
Amber and I started our adventure of being friends, becoming family and intertwining our lives for the rest of time, just over a year ago. Our paths have crossed many times between friends, family and favorite places over the last 15 years without either one of us even realizing the other was there. We had been in the same places, at the same time, without ever knowing one another. Now looking back at it, it seems like fate had a plan for us this whole time. We were meant to start a doggy daycare together that's for sure.
Amber has 15 plus years in the animal world, mostly with dogs. She runs a nonprofit rescue, that focuses on helping people in need. The rescue supplies people with dog food, free dog training, temporary fostering, spaying and neutering, and the list goes on and on. She also has a 10 yr old daughter who is her mini me and will eventually be the next animal-loving Amber.
I have 14 plus years of experience in the dog world. I did my first rescue in 2006, when I drove to a little horrible shelter in California and "rescued" 46 dogs from horrifying conditions. I went down for 13 dogs and came back with 46...quite a few more than originally planned but well worth it. That was when I knew I had found my calling. I started with my own little dog walking business and then added dog training and then began managing a doggy daycare for someone else.
We were given the option in September to buy the daycare which we jumped at, but we exhausted our few resources to fix up and relaunch the business as Jaks Pak. Now we are owner/operators and learning how to run a business with employees and all that entails. Living our dream is something that still seems so unreal at times... but it makes me happy that at the end of every day we get to walk out of OUR business and lock the doors for another work day tomorrow!
So we have put this out there in order to ask for help... We have had to layoff all of our valued employees but our bills continue to pile up , so we are reaching out and asking for your help. Any amount helps and we have set our goal a bit high but this is what it takes for us to run Jaks Pak for 60 days. We hope that we can catch up on the bills we have incurred during our 2 week mandatory shut down and pay those that are coming due at the end of this month.
Thank you everyone for reading this! We appreciate everyone so much!
Without U there wouldn't be an US! We've had your back and now we hope you will have ours!
