Hi, my name’s Kyarla and I’m raising money to afford medicine so my cat can beat Cryptococcosis. Covey, our 5 year old sweet girl has recently been diagnosed with cryptococcosis. We originally got told it was Lymphoma (a cancer in the white blood cells) but it turns out to be an incredibly rare case of cryptococcosis. Cryptococcosis is a fungal infection that takes over the body quickly and painfully. It is caused by inhaling Cryptococcus neoformans or C. gattii spores from the environment. It primarily affects the nasal cavity, causing chronic sneezing and nasal discharge, but can spread to the skin, eyes, and central nervous system, causing complete shutdown. We are lucky enough to catch Covey at her early stages but treatment will come to around $5,800 which is a price we cannot afford alone. Any donation would be of great assistance. Covey is my best friend and I cannot lose her. Treatment will include weekly visits to the vet to set her up with an IV injecting medicine. Since cat’s veins are so thin and the price of anaesthetic, these are where the high prices come from. When caught in it’s early stages, cryptococcosis treatment is incredibly effective. We’ve had Covey since she was a tiny kitten. Her and her sister Rona were found at a car-yard in Tamworth where they were rescued by the Animal Welfare League. Since then, my mum and I have been inseparable from both of the cats. Covey especially is the sweetest girl we’ve ever had (the vets tell us all the time). She is never out of my site, so much so that she sleeps next to me with her head on my pillow every night. She is my best friend and gotten me through so many dark times. I can’t even fathom a world without her in it. Please if you can spare any money, even the smallest amount, I will be forever thankful. I’m doing all I can to gain money on my own but I can’t do it without help.
