Covers for Cover 2021: Supporting GirlForward

Every year for over a decade, volunteer artists and musicians come together to hold a multi-night event to support a charitable organization that centers and uplifts women. This year, Covers for Cover 2021 enjoys a live stream event Friday, December 10th, and an in-person event at Lincoln Hall Saturday, December 11th.

We're ecstatic to share more about our chosen charity, GirlFoward. GirlForward is a community of support dedicated to creating and enhancing opportunities for girls in grades 9-12 who have been displaced globally by conflict and persecution.

We are in the midst of the biggest refugee crisis the world has ever seen. Over 70 million people worldwide have been forced to flee their homes. In conflict, girls are especially vulnerable to violence, isolation, and being kept out of school. Girls who receive resettlement in the United States face huge challenges: poverty, language barrier, limited or disrupted education, isolation, and trauma. But when girls succeed, everyone benefits.

Your donations can support an expanded learning and community center, more opportunities for resources to build social, educational, and economic knowledge within the GirlForward community.
