Covering expenses surrounding the loss of Tim

Donation protected
My name is Tiffany Mitchell, wife to Tim, and mother of Caitlyn. I have created this GoFund me to provide support during this difficult time as Caitlyn and I grieve the loss of my husband and her dad. The funds will go towards funeral expenses, medical bills, and for Caitlyn to participate in the SKILLS USA National Championship with me accompanying her, which was planned before Tim passed away. The past two years Tim has experienced numerous health issues including a broken humerus bone, loss of his hearing accompanied with balance issues, broken ribs, laceration of his splean, and liver issues. Tim has had multiple hospitalizations due to his multiple medical conditions. Most recently Tim was hospitalized on March 24th for confusion, disorientation, low blood count, and liver failure. The doctors gave multiple medications, provided blood, plasma, & platlet transfusions to help his body recover. He appeared to be doing a little better so the hospital released him into the care of a skilled nursing home on April 10th. Then on April 16th the nursing home brought Tim back to the hospital because he was experiencing confusion, unresponsive when talking to him as well as when touching the pressure points on his body. This second time that Tim was hospitalized not only was his liver failing now his kidneys were failing. He was put on continuous dialysis then transitioned to dialysis 3 days per week. His blood pressure continued to fluctuate and he was in the Intensive Care Unit and the Critical Care unit. The doctors said that his life expentancy would be approximately 2 to 3 months. On Friday, May 19th the doctors called me and said I would have to make a decision regarding Tim and his care. The medicines were not working and his quality of life was very poor. On Monday, May 22nd, I made the tough decision that Tim would need to be transitioned to hospice care. Hospice care began on Tuesday, May 30th and he passed passed away that evening. Tim now watches us from Heaven and will be with us always. During the time that Tim was in the hospital, I would visit him 2 to 3 times per day. Then I would pick up food for Caitlyn and myself and repeat this daily until he passed away. Caitlyn visited her dad approximately once per week because she had to continue with her studies and sports career. I continued to work, attend Caitlyn's sporting and academic events while continuing to be a supporting and loving wife to Tim and mother to Caitlyn. Life was not the same anymore. I decided to take a leave of absence from work on May 22nd so that I could take care of Tim during his last days and to care for Caitlyn's and my own mental health. I thank God that Tim was able to be alive for Caitlyn's graduation, watching it from the hospital room, and for her party. These events were important to Tim and he didn't want to miss them even though he was in the hosptial. Bills continued to get larger with Tim's medical expenses along with the other day to day expenses. One expense that I still need to pay for is the cost for Caitlyn to participate in the Skills USA National Competition that is being held in Atlanta, Georgia. This event is very important to Caitlyn, Tim, and myself. Caitlyn will be competing with other teams throughout the US to test their health knowledge in the medical field. With Tim passing away, it is really important that I go along with to support Caitlyn during her academic journey. Family and friends have asked how they can help during this difficult time and I don't really know, but then I decided that maybe a gofund me would be a way that others can support Caitlyn and myself during this difficult time.
