Taking an Edge off of Costs During a Time of Need.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to view the Go Fund Me I have set up for myself, Jeremiah "Dustin" Thompson.
My name is Dustin and I am in the U.S Army Reserves I have always been trying to keep busy, whether it is with college, with my teaching job, or with my two dogs (Loki and Bailey).
On my 38th birthday, my entire world was turned upside down. After experiencing what I thought was slight dizziness and pain in my abdomen, I went to the emergency room at the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and mid-diagnosis of the pain, I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. My diabetes had progressed, though I had never known that I had diabetes and I was immediately put on medication for it. One of the medications given to me, and one of the only ones working, has a cost of over $800 for one month's worth, plus costs for the other diabetic medications have been high. I am currently still trying to control Type II and Mayo Clinic is warning of a Type I diagnosis. I had Tricare Reserve Select during most of my military career, and Tricare Prime last year when I was deployed to Kuwait, but when I tried to deploy once again this year with a local engineer unit, my diabetes kept me from deploying. I have not been able to convert back to Tricare Reserve Select as of this time.
I am a full-time History Teacher at a Christian school in Florida and even though income is currently flowing in, teachers will be out during the summer and I will have to wait until this next school year to restart my income again. (I have recently learned that I can stretch my contract for the upcoming year to include future summer times). I am now in two separate ruts: Losing my income until teaching starts again in the fall and having a hard time paying my Mayo Clinic medical bills. My bills have risen to around $5,000.
If you would like to help ease the financial burden and resultant stress that I am facing, any donation would be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go directly to my care, equipment and related medical expenses.
On behalf of my family and their closest friends, we are all grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support shown over the past few months and undoubtedly, in those to come.
