"Help The S.T.D.'s Make their Documentary Film in Little Rock, AR"

Born deep in the Bible belt, the self-christened “murder punk” band, The S.T.D.’s, have spread their piss and blood for over 14 years. Covered in Blood, Filled with Hate is the story of their personal violence, hatred, rejection and self-destruction. It documents the band’s ambition to annihilate everything and everyone in its scum-drenched path, especially those in Little Rock, AR.
Disturbing on a Biblical level, The S.T.D’s story is wrought with blood, booze and constant disappointment. Even though The S.T.D’s mange to open for headliners, Antiseen and the Misfits, they receive little recognition for their particular cacophony. Continuous disappointment builds as they face their inner demons. Their story, in its entirety, reveals affecting moments of the sting of rejection and the burn of rockin’ against Hell fire and damnation. In spite of it all, The S.T.D’s remain a nasty stain on the Natural State.
Jay Gray, the lead singer, became so disgusted and disillusioned with the lack of interest in the band and the apathetic music scene in Little Rock that he relocated to Chicago, IL in 2014. A year later, he posted a message on a Chicago DIY music page asking if anyone would be interested in heping work on a film about the band. Within moments, Alessandro Medici, responded to Jay's message. Alessandro became immediately intrigued by the vast amount of video footage and photography the band had accumulated over the years. Since the summer of 2015, editing, writing and research of the film has been in constant production. Now, Jay, Alessandro and the film crew need your help to bring them back to Little Rock to film the final moments of Covered in Blood, Filled with Hate.



ABOUT THE FILM MAKER:
Alessandro Medici is a movie producer, director, editor, videographer, and photographer from Chicago, Illinois. His backgroud in the film industry began as a toddling punk assisting his professional videographer father. He has attended the prestigious Chicago Academy for the Arts , Columbia College Chicago, and Culver Academies. Alessandro has worked on numerous documentaries, short films, and music videos. Most recently he managed to survive working with rap artist, Ice Cube. We have yet to see if he will be able to live through his time with The S.T.D's. Filming and editing for Covered in Blood, Filled with Hate is currently taking place Chicago, Illinois, and hopefully with your help, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

MESSAGE FROM THE FILM MAKER:
"About a year ago I came across two of the nicest and most badass people I have ever had the pleasure to meet in my life. Their names are Jay Gray and his girlfriend/unofficial band manager/band mom Dot Lane. Jay was looking for someone to tell his story, and after meeting with him to hear it, I became instantly interested in helping him get it to the world. His is a tale of heartbreak, disgustingness, pain, suffering, human indecency, camaraderie, love in a place only hate seems to flourish, facing adversity from all sides, and survival against all odds in the bible belt of America. At first glance, especially if you see him perform live, you might think that Jay Grey is an evil human being. If you take even a second to get to know him, it is plain to see the humanity within this man. That, to me, is the heart of his story. What makes a punk rocker tick? Why does a sensitive and intelligent man get on stage and bash his face with a broken beer bottle while he screams into a mic like a bloody murderer?

He approached me with about 100 hours of footage already shot, all on VHS and HIGH-8 tapes. Not to mention the thousands of photographs taken by Dot. We are planning on going on the road in a few weeks, back to the bible belt, to shoot more. We need more interviews, live footage, and b-roll to help create a cohesive piece. As this is punk rock, we are scraping the bottom of our barrels to make this happen. We need gas money, food, and ultimately money for post-production. At the moment we have a fund raising page to help with our trip, which we will be embarking on May 17th-25th.
