Hi, my name is Kaitlyn, and I'm trying to help my cat Walter.
Walter is a 2 year old tabby I rescued in Oct 2024. He recently had a major hip surgery on his right side called an FHO (femoral head ostectomy) after breaking his hip. He was ten days into his recovery and doing so well. He started walking around, playing with our new kitten, and acting like himself again. I was so excited and thought we were finally out of the woods when he fell and broke his other hip.
After another costly vet visit we learned that he will need an FHO surgery on his left hip as well. Unfortunately all the vet clinics in the area are booking a month out and I couldn't stand to let him lay in pain with a broken bone for that long. With the help of our vet we were able to find a clinic a few hours away that will do his surgery, for almost double the price of the first. That doesn't include the travel costs, medications, or follow up visits.
Seeing him go from recovering to being in pain again is heartbreaking, he is still trying so hard to get around on his own and take care of our new kitten. I've been doing everything I can for him but the cost of his second surgery is more than I was prepared for. Walter is still very young and has a lot of life ahead of him. He deserves a chance to recover and live his life to the fullest with no more pain. If you're able to help even a small amount would mean the world to us. And if you cannot donate sharing would help more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Walter and for caring about him, he can use all the love he can get right now ❤️
