Cover Veterinary Fees

Hi. My name is Tessa and I am fundraising to help my daughter raise the funds to cover her dog, Shadows, veterinary fees. Although, Shadow is my daughter’s dog she has been my constant companion throughout the last 2 years of my fight against a terminal diagnosis of 2 primary cancers. She has sat loyally by my side never leaving me throughout my chemotherapy, during my recovery from round after round of sepsis, keeping me company when home alone and alerting family members when I was unwell, stumbled or fell. Importantly, she has helped me to regain my fitness with our daily walks over the Wellhead in Bourne. She brings a smile to me everyday, she has tugged me out of bed for a walk on some of my darkest days and gives me such joy. She is known by many walkers for her love of her Frisbee and love of water, swimming daily regardless of weather. She is kind, placid and so gentle natured never a growl at anyone or other dog no matter what is thrown at her by human or other dog who may be anxious or nervous around other dogs.
My daughter has not been irresponsible and kept her uninsured but as a student nurse could not afford ‘top of the range insurance’ as her ability to work alongside her nurse training was impacted upon by her caring responsibilities to me. She would travel to Addenbrookes and attempt her coursework and assignments by the side of my hospital bed. Loyal to me as her dog Shadow has been. Therefore the insurance is basic and unfortunately in the small print ‘The Cruciate Ligament’ was only covered to the tune of £750.00. Thus far costs are:
£219.00 vets and X-ray and pain relief
£4500.00 specialist surgery due to ruptured cruciate ligament at Cambridge
£22.00 per pain relief prescription
£22.00 per sedatory medication to keep her calm as she has to be crated for 8 weeks
£591.00 for 6 week post surgery X-rays
£1050.00 will be required for her hydrotherapy.
I appreciate times are hard and Xmas is around the corner but we really do need some help to be able to afford to bring our beautiful girl back to fitness again. She needs as much help as possible and I so need her to support me with ‘my fight’. Thank you so much for any help you are able to offer
