In Rememberance of Jesusa G. Santos

If you ever had the pleasure of having to meet my mother, Jesusa “Susan” G. Santos, she was always the one with the brightest smile in the room and the most joyful presence. Her abounding happiness was very infectious and it was almost certain that the happiness she radiated would turn your mood around. Susan loved her friends and family with her whole heart and more. Mom's number one priority in life was to always serve and take care of the people around her.

In the year 2012, mom developed complications surrounding her vascular system that would come to be a persistent issue later in her life. This issue was what is known as an “Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm.” The aorta is the heart's largest blood vessel that supplies blood to the entire body from the torso down. The aneurysm consists of a tear in the aorta that can cause it to balloon in size which is caused by blood flow slowly filling the space between the vessel and the tear. This aneurysm would be the first of several that mom will come to develop over the remainder of her life. This however would not stop her from living life fully and spreading her love everywhere she went.

These aneurysms would remain monitored closely and stable until November 2018 when an unexpected brain aneurysm burst in her head. This caused a severe hospitalization and surgery however mom survived and went on to recover back to a healthy state. From then on, she would remain as healthy as she can be even with the aortic aneurysm still existing in her body. Her joy and love for life never wavered at any point.
However, in the middle of February 2023, Susan began to develop stomach and back pain. The subsequent hospital stay and tests would go on to show that the aortic aneurysm that first developed began to complicate itself in nature. The goal was to alleviate this situation by performing a necessary, but risky surgery which would require exposure of the vascular system surrounding the aneurysm. Due to the nature and complexity of the surgery, mom did not survive the procedure on March 10, 2023.

As a family, we are very thankful for all of the time and love our mom has given to each of us. She truly reflected the Love of God to all of those around her. The goal of this GoFundMe is to help alleviate the expenses of the funeral and burial of our beloved mother. Please continue to pray for the Santos family as they continue to navigate the uncertainty of the loss of Susan, a mother and wife to our family. Any financial contribution from the bottom of your heart is greatly appreciated and we are very grateful for your donation to help support us. God bless you and thank you.
