Cover the funeral & education expenses for a HERO

This GoFundMe Page is being set up by friends of Dr. John Cheng, the hero who put himself in harm’s way and ultimately lost his life to protect and save the lives of members of his parent’s church, located in the community of Laguna Woods, California. John was attending at the request of his Mother who was returning to her congregation for the first time since the death of his Father just three months ago. On Sunday May 15th, Dr. John Cheng attempted to disarm a man positioned, armed and ready to kill everyone in attendance and then had planned to set fires to burn down the Church.

The Bible says there is no greater love than someone who lays His life down for his friends. This past Sunday, John showed the most love anyone on this earth could show by putting his life on the line until the very end to save others. John was always a man who brought great honor and unconditional love to his family, friends, patients, and to everyone he  met. John was admired and held in the highest regard by so many. It comes at no surprise that he heroically gave his life so others could live. John’s whole life prepared him for that day, and he was once again selflessly putting others above himself.

John leaves behind his wife and two high school aged children. Our goal with this GoFundMe page is to cover the funeral expenses, and hopefully be able to set up a college fund to assist John’s children as they continue their educational pursuits.

What a man . . . what a life . . . what a great hero you are John Cheng! We will greatly miss you. You were one of the most amazing individuals on the planet and we are all better people for having known you. You showed us firsthand that we can all make a difference to overcome evil with good.
