The loss of Karis Steadman has caused unimaginable grief to her family, friends, and community. Karis attended Light of the World Academy from kindergarten through sixth grade, and she truly embodied what it meant to be the “light” in our world.

Karis was a ray of sunshine that was evident to all who met her. She was small in stature but larger than life. Karis was the essence of light. She was the proud, one-girl, self-proclaimed Welcoming Committee at the school and never met a stranger. In every way, she was wise beyond her years. Karis loved riding horses, being a member of 4H and Scouts, and performing on stage with the Light of the World Academy Theater Club.
