We sources books from good will, restate and garage sales, community donations, friends of the library shops and collaberations with local indie shops. We aslo use Ebay and thrift books to ship directly to a person if the shipping is free. there are 5 of us around the world working on this and rely on doantions for funding and our own paychecks. it takes time, because when we can't afford to do it, we have to stop. our longest "break" was in September of 2026, where we shut down for five weeks.
but weve had a few more donations trickle in so we are back on our bullshit and trying to complete orders from may and early June. we appreciate anything you can spare in this crazy world we live in and we will email you receipt proofs if you request it.

reblleions are built on hope
✨Hi, I am the Blacklisted Bookshelf, a Little Free Library in California that is providing banned and challenged books for free across the country to anyone who asks for them. And I mean anyone!
This project took off a little more than I thought it would (my kids say I went viral?). While I have books covered with various donations, bookshops, and collaborations, the Postal Service prices are killing me. I sent out books today, three packages, to Mississippi, Utah, and Florida, and it was $56. I can't afford to keep doing that, and that was with the media cheap prices!
I'm putting a plea out here to help with shipping costs. I plan on publishing every single receipt I get for shipping so that people can see I'm legit for real.
Don't feel obligated to donate. I will get all the books done and out to people, but it may just take a little more time as I try to find a budget. (I've got kids in college!)
I don't have any other ideas at this time.
Thank you!
