Cover Non-Medical Expenses for Carol

Hello. My name is Bridgette Kozuch, and I am the niece of Carol Neiman. After much thought and reflection from the family, we decided it was time to reach out and let people know what has recently happened with Carol. On Thursday, January 19th, Carol had numbness in her legs and toes. Due to this numbness, she fell. Upon falling, she also realized she was having trouble breathing, so it was decided that she would go to the emergency room. After many tests, some misdiagnoses, and more tests, Carol was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome. If you're like me, you probably have never heard of this extremely rare syndrome. In short, this syndrome has left Carol unable to work and unable to return home at this time. After being in the hospital for a week and finishing the first of many potential treatments, she is being moved to an acute rehabilitation center. After her time there, the family is uncertain where Carol will go next, as there are so many unknowns when it comes to Guillain-Barre Syndrome. One thing is certain - things will not be as they were for Carol for some time, and while we rally around her, bills still need to be paid. This syndrome will leave her unable to work for the time being, and we want to make sure that everything can still run smoothly in terms of monthly bills and upkeep.

As you will hear in the video above, the average length of time to recover from GBS is 6 months - 2 years. There may also be long-term residual effects. As her family, we are trying to find the middle ground of being optimistic yet being realistic. Your donation will help to cover 3 months of bills for Carol so that WHEN she fully recovers, she will be able to transition back to her normal life without any additional stress.
