In a close knit community like Vanderhoof, when tragedy occurs it affects everyone. Today we stand beside our friends and community members Orlanthia, Carl, Josh and Sean as they navigate a loss in their family.

On Friday, June 6th, Orlanthia received a call no parent can fathom. Her youngest son Seth, (19) had been in an accident.

Despite all lifesaving measures taken by Hospital staff, Seth’s injuries were just too great, and he passed away early Saturday morning, June 7th.

Our hearts break to take in such a tragic loss of a bright young man; a son, a brother, and a loyal friend. Our deepest condolences go out to Orlanthia, Carl, Seth’s father Jerome, his brothers Josh and Sean, and all of Seth’s family and friends.

Seth was a kind, hardworking, respectful young man with a generous heart. He was always there to help when needed. He had a great sense of humour; you could always count on Seth to make you laugh, and with that infectious laugh came his big beautiful smile.

Seth was a pure joy to be around and he had an unwavering love for his family and friends. He lived with passion, and worked hard to better himself in everything he did. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Anyone who knows Orlanthia and Carl know how dedicated they are to the boys and to their family - working hard to see the boys through their educational endeavours, and recently purchasing a home in Vanderhoof. They are a tight knit crew, and this sudden loss strikes a devastating blow.

As they say, it takes a village. Orlanthia, Carl, Josh and Sean need our support now as they take time to rest and to grieve.
