Cover medical bills to save Paing's leg
Donation protected
One of our longest standing and hardest working team member's Paing was involved in a motorcycle accident back in November. As one of our Burmese team, the care he has received in government hospitals has been lacking due to the severity of the injury. After suffering continued pain and swelling for over two months (where he also tried to return to work), he was recently rushed to a private hospital in Surat Thani. Paing has been diagnosed with a severe infection in the bone, muscle and blood. If Paing hadn't been rushed to hospital when he was, this would have resulted in amputation to above his knee. Paing had emergency surgery a couple of days ago to save his leg, however it is still touch and go as to whether the surgery was successful enough to enable him to make a full recovery.
So far the medical bills have totalled 180,000THB (£4300 approximately) with projected total treatment costs of around 420,000THB (£10,000 approximately). We are looking to raise funds to help Paing and his family ensure the care he is receiving continues. If anyone is able to help donate even a small amount, it would be massively appreciated. Every little bit will 100% make a difference.
Whether you've had the pleasure of meeting Paing, diving with the Escape Team or have a small amount to spare, it would be greatly appreciated. Paing is a huge part of the Escape family and now he needs our help!
