Help Jourdyn to cover the cost of skin graft surgery!

The past few months have been… challenging to say the least. While I was trying to finish Undoing, I was hit with a barrage of medical issues. As we grow older, I suppose we look for that stuff, but when they start saying words like cancer, liver disease, and blood disease, you begin to wonder where you went wrong when you were younger.

I am fortunate enough to have had a very treatable cancer that was able to be cut out of my legs. The unfortunate part is the cost of the surgeries. I never knew skin grafts were so expensive! You never prepare for these kinds of things because why would you put that into the universe? Yet, even with insurance, medical costs add up with co-pays, deductibles, and the fact that insurance only pays a percentage of the procedures. The rest is up to the patient. And while I’m grateful to not have to fork over $106K for them to harvest skin from one part of my body to put on another part, the amount I’m responsible for is daunting.

You have no idea how grateful I am for someone like Melissa who has helped me tremendously throughout this ordeal. And I’m grateful to all my fellow authors who have graciously stepped up to help a peer in their time of need. This is why this community is so important and needed.
