Our family, like many, finds itself dealing with a significant and unexpected medical crisis that has reshaped our world.

 

On January 29th, Moninne was diagnosed with a large brain mass, that required immediate intervention. As a family, we came together to support her as she underwent an 11.5 hour brain surgery to remove the mass.

 

The surgery, already dangerous, had additional complications making her case more complex. The tumor was unable to be fully removed. Following the surgery Moninne entered rehab to regain functions lost due to the impacts of her brain tumor and surgery and has since returned home.

 

Ultimately, she has been diagnosed with a rare brain cancer called a Solitary Fibrous Tumor; categorized as a grade 3, this is a malignant tumor that will require 6.5 weeks of radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and long term monitoring for regrowth.

 

No one can prepare for a cancer diagnosis; particularly one that transforms a vibrant, active fifty something woman to someone who is unable to walk without assistance. The journey has been a whirlwind of ups and downs and is ongoing, but as family, we are determined to fight this battle together with all the strength, love, and support we can muster.

 

As many of you know, the road to recovery from cancer is not easy, and comes with hefty medical bills that can be overwhelming. Moninne, undergoing treatment, is fighting to regain her health and life while also facing a financial burden that weighs heavily.
