Help Cover Medical Expenses

UPDATE: All praise and glory is due to Allah.

Our mom is in a stable and improving condition. We are feeling very optimistic about her survival/recovery. We were able to see her this morning through FaceTime and although her injuries are extensive and she will have to undergo a lot of surgery, this is great news for us, and better than we could’ve thought. Given the improvements in her condition , we’re hoping she won’t be in need of a medivac (medical aircraft), and we could possibly explore other forms of specialized transportation to bring her back; so she can receive the surgeries/care she needs. She will need many surgeries & procedures. Her road to recovery is a long one but we are optimistic about it. Alhamdulilah! We want to thank everyone who’s reached out to the family, contributed and kept our mother in their ad’iyaa. We’ve been overwhelmed with love, and appreciate you all. We’ve seen the effects of du’aa, and we ask you guys all to please continue making duaa for her, my uncle and other survivors and victims who weren’t able to make it. May Allah reward you all for your kindness, generosity and weigh these actions heavy on your scales.

As many of you know, my mother flew out of the states on Monday morning, with the intent to care for her sick and elderly parents. Upon her arrival at the Jigjiga airport, my mother was chased and shot by by an Eth*opian f*deral officer. By the will of Allah ﷻ, my beloved mom survived the shooting, but is in a very critical condition right now. We were so full of hope last night; that her condition could improve and we could wait till she was allowed to fly to bring her back to the US, to receive proper medical care. However, due to the changes in her condition, we’re not sure we have the time to wait for her condition to improve. My mother was transported by aircraft back to Addis Ababa, and unfortunately she needs further medical care that cannot be provided where she currently is.

With the advice of her medical professionals and family, we have decided to fly her here by an emergency medical aircraft. We appreciate everyone who’s reached out to us, visited, and making duaa for my mom over the last couple of days. We have created a GoFundMe, to help cover the funding of her emergency medical aircraft. Please donate and share.
