Please help cover Loki's vets fee's

A lot of people around Bishops Stortford know dad, the dogs & myself. Loki the darker husky with brown eyes is around 10 years old, Lexi the lighter husky with blue eyes is around 14 years old.

Unfortunately on Tuesday 8th April Loki fell ill.
He vomited up a lot of brownish colour liquid. It took three bath towels to clear up, such was the quantity.

Usually we would visit the RSPCA vets in Harlow, but they only had admin staff in that day.

In the end, as Loki was so lethargic, we opted to take him to Vets4Pets in town. He was admitted as an emergency, had at least one x-ray & basic blood tests done, at a cost of nearly £700.

These results showed there was no foreign bodies to be concerned about, the blood tests didn't raise huge concern either so we're still at a loss to the cause of the vomiting.

Today, Friday 11th April, Loki is still not himself & hasn't eaten since at least Tuesday.

Being a husky, he has the picky eater traits & self regulates, so going a day or two without eating isn't unusual.

But usually he'd still be eager to eat treats etc, which currently he is turning away from.

My usually happy boy who loves everyone & always wants to say hello, doesn't even feel well enough to lift his head to see who's come in the house right now.

I'm going to have to take him back into the vets for further assessment & hopefully him making a recovery.

As I said above usually I'd take him to the RSPCA, but they don't have access to half the equipment like x-rays, not locally at least.

I've tried looking at PDSA & similar pet charities & we live outside of their catchment areas, so I have other choice really than to use a regular vets right now.

I hate asking but I / Loki could really do with people's help & support because I fear these extra vets fee's are going to put Loki's health/recovery in jeopardy because I don't know where I'm going to find the money.

As it is, I'm in debt just to cover the existing fees. I've set the current target of £1000 as this would cover the existing fees & would help towards whatever these additional fees are going to cost.

I'm dad's carer, I get shy of £600 a month Universal Credit, so the vets fee's are already more than a month's money & that's before my usual bills are even considered.

If I do get a days work for every £100 I earn the government reduce my payment by £55, meaning I effectively do a days work for £45.

I don't know what else to do but reach out and ask the community for help.

I'll continue to post updates & will adjust the target to reflect the cost of the vets fees.
