EXPENSES OF OUR HOSPITALIZED DAUGHTER MONICA

Hi, our names are Alex and Mary , we are fundraising for our hospitalized daughter Monica.

Tragedy is striking our family for the third time. We had an adult daughter who we lost 10 years ago to a brain injury. Around that same time, our other daughter, Monica, learned her husband had a disabling brain tumor that would require multiple surgeries, that he would require a lot of care himself, and that he would not be able to work again to help support their family. Today, our family is facing yet another devastating tragedy.

Now, Monica, who has been a teacher in Fontana, CA school for over 20 years is in a desperate situation that nobody could plan for financially.

On Friday November 18th, Monica was taken to the hospital with a severe headache. Monica lost conscience by the time she got to the hospital and remains on the ventilator for over a week at the time of this writing. Doctors expect she may remain in a coma for several more weeks and her prognosis is unknown. At a minimum, she is likely to need significant care for some length of time if she recovers.

Monica regularly used up all her own sick leave to care for her husband after his latest brain surgery. Although she has insurance that covers many of their family medical bills, Monica has not been able to establish a rainy-day fund for her family being the single breadwinner as a teacher in California with a disabled husband and teenage daughter.

Most importantly, we are praying for Monica’s recovery but we realize that recovery process time may be very long. We hope to raise some funds for Monica’s medical expenses as well as for family living expenses.

We are her elderly, heartbroken parents with medical issues that limit our ability to travel and assist. Please pray for Monica, and, if you are able, please contribute to help her family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
