I'm helping my good friend Mia raise money to cover her medical and living costs after recently finding out that she will have to have invasive surgery to remove a 17 cm (7 inch) benign leiomyoma (tumor) growing on her uterus. It is a high risk surgery and the recovery time will take a month.

Donations will help cover any medical expenses that insurance does not cover (if anything at all) and keep her financially afloat while she is recovering. Her recently engaged fiancé, Austin, will be supporting the household while she recovers.

Mia is the hardest working person I know and has successfully established herself as a music teacher after receiving her degree at Full Sail University in music production. Although she is a music teacher at three different businesses, she will not receive medical leave. This surgery will cause a pause in her income as she heals. I want to make sure Mia does not feel pressured to go back to work before she is fully healed as well as feels unburdened by the medical expenses that will accrue.
