For those who have not heard, the Friedel family is facing a very difficult challenge right now. David was flown to UW Children's Hospital with a cardiac issue and he is still facing so much uncertainty. David's heart rhythm was irregular and the rate was dangerously high. The doctors were unable to lower his heart rate, so he was placed on ventilators and bypass machines to help take the burden off of his heart. David is a strong fighter and has the best help there is, but is facing the possibility of a heart transplant. He has already had multiple procedures but they have provided limited help in improving his heart's condition. His doctors are still working hard to understand the cause of these issues and the entire family is asking for prayers that they discover a less invasive way to manage his symptoms. To me, the Friedel family has always been the group to take care of those around them. I have shown up to dinner at their home with a bottle of wine, was fed a huge meal, and then sent home with leftovers and 3 bottles of better wine. I asked Greg and Lara to allow me to create this page because I knew they wouldn't ask for help themselves. They have never been the type to ask others for help; please help me in showing them that you don't need to ask for it to receive it. Consider donating to help provide financial security for David's support system through his procedures, ongoing hospital stay, and the recovery process so that he can get back to being a kid again. Thank you.
