cover burial expenses for Helena King
Donation protected
My name is Arthur Evans, a high school senior in Rosedale, Mississippi. This week, my mom, Ms. Helena King, passed away from cancer. After losing my dad in 2016 and my grandmother just four months ago, this loss hits hard. You may or may not know her, but she has bought so much laughter and joy to all of our lives. My mom was a loving mother and made sure that whatever her kids needed, they had. If me or my brothers had something going on, guess what? She would be right there in the front row, shouting “That’s my baby!”
She leaves behind three boys: me, Kenyatta, and Jarvis, and she loves us so much. She was also an outside person, and loved to be in her garden or building her fire pit in the front yard, and then she would collect her cans to make a little extra money. She was a hard-working, family lady.
Our family has experienced a lot of loss these past few months, and paying for burial expenses is difficult. We are hoping to raise $3,000 in the coming weeks to make sure that we can give my mom a proper funeral, paying for the coffin, grave, and ceremony. Although we don't think there will be extra money, anything extra that we raise will be put toward my graduation expenses and making sure that I have what I need to walk across the stage in May in her honor.
Thanks to all of you in advance for your support. This is a difficult time for our family, and your gifts mean a lot to all of us.
With love,
Arthur and Kenyatta
