Help Alicia Fight Breast Cancer

My name is Justin Whitman, Alicia Sheckard’s brother. I am fundraising to help cover her medical expenses. On Thursday, January 18, Alicia’s biopsy results came back and indicated that she has breast cancer. The following Monday she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, which accounts to 10-15 % of all breast cancer. After a punch biopsy was performed, Alicia found out her cancer has spread to the breast skin adding Inflammatory to the diagnosis which accounts to 1-5% of breast cancer.

Since the cancer is considered Invasive, her treatment will be aggressive. Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) has fewer options than other breast cancers. Alicia’s current treatment plan will first be chemotherapy, then surgery, then radiation.

Many people have expressed their love, support, and prayers as Alicia navigates this extremely difficult journey. For the next several months, she will have oncologist/medical visits, chemo appointments, surgery, and other medical tests. As we all know, medical expenses can be expensive and overwhelming.
