Coventry Comets are an inclusive wheelchair basketball club with teams in Division 1 and Division 3 of the National League, plus junior and Inspire League squads. We provide opportunities for all – from fun and friendship to high-level competition – with the chance to learn, improve, and play games.
Keith Batty was a legend of the wheelchair basketball community and much-loved by all at the Coventry Comets. His passing back in March aged just 61 was sudden and we will miss him dreadfully. He has left an immeasurable legacy on the sport and especially on Coventry, and we think that legacy should be recognised and remembered.
On Sunday, August 31, we will be holding the Keith Batty Memorial Day at Woodlands Sports Complex, Broad Lane. Running from midday, it will feature two exhibition games, with other activities including a tombola and we will be serving refreshments and hot food.
In memory of Keith, we will be raising funds towards the two charities he held dear to his heart, Coventry Comets Wheelchair Basketball Club and Whizz Kidz. All funds raised will be split between the two charities.
Thank you.
