When Cousin Phil died suddenly in Southern California, he left no will and several thousand dollars of debt. Phil was invaluable to me before and after my mother died, helping me with her care and afterward going through the family home to ready it for sale. Serving him now, seeing to his funeral, legal costs, and a trip to Southern California to go through his home and possessions, is a grateful responsibility I feel I owe him.
