Courtney’s Medical Travel Expenses

Hello,

My name is Courtney I’m a 29 year old mother of four. (7 Year old daughter, 18 month old boy/girl twins and a 4 month old baby girl). Happily engaged to my partner Logan who I’ve been with for over 5 years.

While I was pregnant with my twins I had an abnormal growth appear on my left arm. At 1st I thought nothing of it till at my prenatal blood work a nurse noticed and suggested I got it checked out. It took almost two years to see a dermatologist and finally get it looked at.

On May 11th, 2025 the dermatologist removed the growth and originally had thought it was a Pyrogenic Granuloma (a common non cancerous skin growth) but they wanted to make sure it wasn’t anything more serious so the growth was sent to be biopsied.

Further testing was performed using immunostains showing a diagnosis of an angiosarcoma. ( a rare type of cancer that forms in the lining of the blood vessels and lymph vessels.) Only about two cases per million people are diagnosed annually.

I will need to undergo more testing including biopsies, MRI and CT scans.

Since we are in northern Ontario a lot of these tests will require travel.

We are starting this fund raiser to help offset the costs of missing work, travel expenses, accommodations and childcare expenses during appointments.

We are hopeful the angiosarcoma is just located on my arm and is not found anywhere else in my body during further testing.
