My boys, always there to help me fight <3
Hello! My name is Courtney and I'm 29 years old. I'm a mother to two wonderful little boys ( Quin-9, Trase-u) and wife to my amazing husband James. I am currently working towards a degree as a medical laboratory tech, but it hasn't been easy. I was finally diagnosed with MS in October 2014, after struggling for many many years with terrible medical issues. I finally found an amazing doctor who listened and discovered I was being plagued by this nasty disease known as multiple sclerosis. I suffer from foot drop, left side weakness, fatigue, cognitive impairment, etc which makes life very hard at times. I know there is more to come with this MonSter but I fight it everyday for my family. My husband and my boys are the most important people in my life and I couldn't do this without them. I am currently on Tysabri infusions because I failed on both plegridy and tecfidera. These medications have terrible side effects that can cause permanent damage, and many (including the one I'm on) can even cause death. I am hoping to raise money to recieve HSCT - Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (bone marrow transplant) to halt and hopefully reverse the damage I have because of my MS. There have been so many lives changed and made better by this procedure already. Here is a link to a little bit of info on the procedure for anyone who wants to know about it: http://www.hsctstopsms.com/what-is-hsct/
I would absolutely love the chance at a better life for myself and my family! I cannot even express how much this would mean to me and all those I hold dear. I know the chances that I'll raise the money needed are slim, but I believe that dreams can come true and miracles do happen. I have to at least try and know that I gave it my all. I never want to have to tell my boys again that mommy can't do something because she's sick I want to thank anyone who took the time to read this. Any amount be it $1 or $100 would be getting me that much closer to this incredible opportunity. For those who cannot donate please don't feel bad!!! As a family of 4 living on one income I totally understand ☺ I hope some of you can share my story and help me get it out there! Have an amazing day!
