Courtney Lund Angiosarcoma Medical Fund

Hello I’m Brittany Rhodenbaugh and I’m helping raise money for one of the strongest people I know. My friend Courtney Lund has overcame a lot of different obstacles in her life. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was a young child. Her mother fought and kicked breast cancer’s ass. Who knew watching her mother’s cancer battle would prepare her down the road for her own. Courtney was diagnosed with Angiosarcoma in January of 2022 just two years into her marriage to Jake Lund. Courtney was starting all the baseline testing for being BRCA gene positive when they found something on her MRI scan. After further testing, Courtney was diagnosed with Angiosarcoma. Angiosarcoma is a rare and very aggressive cancer that develops in the blood vessels. It just so happened that the Angiosarcoma was in her left breast. In the time before the surgery to remove the cancer it was already growing rapidly. The doctors were able to remove all the cancer. Courtney had to complete radiation and a preventative mastectomy on her right breast and is now in the process of going through reconstructive surgery. Now she’s been married for four years and this young couple have missed out on all the things couples achieve in the young stage of marriage. They have been each others rock and have also gone through something not many couples go through in this stage of their life. They are now asking for help from the community they have leaned on each other for so much support but the financial burden of cancer is weighing on them. Courtneys fight is not over, she will have to go frequently to complete scans to make sure her type of cancer has not come back. Courtney’s friends and family are hosting a benefit on November 5th from 12-4 at the knights of Columbus we would love people to come out in support and tell your friends.
