Courtney Fussell Accident Relief Fund

On June 30th, Courtney and her family were involved in a horrific car accident near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Courtney’s mother Debra Montuori and step niece Lacey, were unexpectedly taken too soon from us in the accident. Courtney’s step father Steve and step sister Stephanie were flown to a nearby Level 1 trauma center and are currently in the Neuro-ICU. Courtney was Medevac’d by helicopter to the same trauma center, where she was admitted to the Trauma/ Ortho ICU. Courtney sustained the following injuries, shattered femur, broken clavicle, tore all ligaments in her left ankle, broken ulna, and two fractures in her C6 and C7 vertebrae. Courtney has undergone numerous surgical procedures and has a long road ahead for recovery. As of July 10th, Courtney was moved to inpatient rehabilitation, where she will stay for the next 2 weeks. Courtney is currently non-weight bearing on 3 of her 4 extremities. The goal with therapy is to allow her to become more independent and ambulatory, for when she is discharged home.  Once home, therapy and doctors appointments will continue for several months. 

Courtney is an active volunteer EMT in Frederick County, Maryland with the Vigilant Hose Company and Urbana Volunteer Fire & Rescue.  Courtney several months ago began working part-time as an EMT with Alpha Fire Company in Littlestown, Pennsylvania.  All this while working full-time and raising beloved dogs, Finn and Holle. 
 
All funds raised will go directly towards Courtney’s medical costs and related travel expenses for doctor/ therapy appointments.
