Courtney Brammer National Youth Wind Ensemble
Donation protected
Courtney Brammer has been selected to travel to D.C. as a member of the Inaugural National Youth Wind Ensemble. She will be performing under the baton of Colonel. Fettig, the Conductor of the "Presidents Own" Marine Band at the Warren Theater. This is truly an outstanding achievement for Courtney. She's an Ambassador for the Southwest DeKalb High School Band, the SWD Community, Music Education in our Schools, DeKalb County, and Georgia. Will you help her to get there?
Without a doubt, this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Courtney. Click here to hear Courtney Play: https://youtu.be/w9C4YHtfN8M
Courtney needs OUR love & support to meet her financial obligations to participate in this program which are Program + Flight.
In the Spring, Courtney made history as a part of the first majority-female drum major set to lead the Southwest DeKalb High School Marching Panther Band. At the age of 17, Courtney is now a Senior. She has maintained all "A"s academically for 12 years. She has been accepted to 10 colleges and has received both academic merit and musician scholarship offers. She has achieved the following accomplishments in music under the direction of Carlos Fowler, Natalie Brown, James O. Seda, and the private lesson direction of Mr. T.C. Spivey-Hall:
• Juilliard Summer Winds Program (Anthony McGill/Principal Clarinetist New York Philharmonic)
• The Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra (ASYO)
• Metro Atlanta Youth Wind Ensemble (MAYWE)/ Conductor Dr. Vanderwalker
• Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony (AYWS)/ Conductor Scott Stewart
Covid 19 came, and she was challenged to hang on in there by Mr. Hall. He challenged her to continue to fly and the Village would be there to catch her when she falls. With no hesitation, she took a chance and chose to believe in herself. Please donate and help her to meet her financial obligations to participate in this program. "It takes a village"
